Silos & Smokestacks: It Takes An Iowan Exhibit

Our mission to feed the world.

While the population exponentially increases, the amount of arable land continues to shrink. It’s not the best combo. Luckily, we Iowans have a tradition of being leaders who are eager to roll up our sleeves.

Most people automatically think “farming” when it comes to our state. And hey, that makes sense. But Iowans are also leaders in education, technology, communication, legislation, and transportation. Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area decided to celebrate our global influence in the form of a traveling exhibit. With content surrounding the importance of Iowans when it comes to feeding the world, we worked with Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area to name, brand, and design this educational tribute to the people of our state.

We also designed and built this microsite, complete with a video from Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack promoting the exhibit and hashtag.

Social media was integrated to give exhibit-goers an outlet to display their pride.

And where better to premiere an exhibit showcasing Iowans and their accomplishments than at the Iowa State Fair? The It Takes An Iowan exhibit will be on display adjacent to the illustrious Butter Cow. Be sure to check it out, or visit ItTakesAnIowan.com to see when the exhibit will be in your neck of the woods.
